Vandalism Shuts Down Phoenix Park Bathrooms

Phoenix Park in Eau Claire faced significant vandalism over a weekend, causing the city to close the Phoenix Park Trailhead restroom for the season. Vandals caused "extensive" damage, including smashing a toilet. This incident marks at least the second instance of severe vandalism in Phoenix Park. Earlier, on Aug. 29, restrooms near the Farmers Market Pavilion were damaged when a group set multiple fires and broke a toilet off the wall. The community had come together in 2011 to build these facilities, making such acts of destruction particularly disheartening. The city urges the community to report any suspicious activities and condemns such senseless acts.
